From Bud to Blossom (#257 of 365+)

Yesterday I studied about Jesus Christ, the Rose of Sharon, in full bloom. Today’s devotional focuses on the fact that I’m just a little rose bud but I’m growing up due to God’s own brand of Miracle
Grow.

“And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18)

“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6)

Joni encouraged her readers to buy or pick some rose or flower buds and then be inspired by watching them bloom. As the Lord gently opens each and every petal, we are reminded that he is also transforming our lives in the same way. The beauty that results will be all to his glory, so we need to “welcome” changes as they happen...

Lord, change me from a lowly bud into a prize blossom that bears your name. Amen.
