The Kiss of Peace (#191 of 365+)

“And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him” (Luke 15:20 KJV)

Like the prodigal son, we’ve all gone astray and we don’t deserve any forgiveness. But because of Jesus we can experience the Father’s goodness and grace. Even when we think this time we’ve really gone too far, we’ve messed things up beyond repair, and it’s all over… God gives us another sunrise. We won’t lose the Holy Spirit or our salvation. He just wants us to seek him with a sincere heart. When we do he meets us like the prodigal’s father and gives us (in Joni’s words) “the kiss of heaven.”

God the Father loves us with an extravagant love...

“Surely his salvation is near those who fear him… Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other” (Psalm 85:9-10)

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, you have been so gracious towards me. Thank you for touching me in a deeply personal way. Amen.
