“Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. The LORD looked and was displeased that there was no justice. He saw that there was no one, he was appalled that there was no one to intervene”
(Isaiah 59:15-16)
Joni’s heart breaks every time she hears how the disabled in underdeveloped countries are misunderstood, mistreated, and “easy targets for abuse.” Even in the United States of America—with all the social programs and charitable organizations—people are being robbed of their dignity every day. But God is shining his light of truth on one soul at a time. Like light overcomes darkness, God’s Word changes hearts and minds. Christians who aren’t ashamed of the gospel are sharing that Jesus is “the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6). Sure, the message might offend some people because it’s politically incorrect, but who cares? It’s the truth!
“The Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil” (John 3:19)
“Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands” (Psalm 119:73)
Lord, thank you for sending someone who shined the light of your Word to open my eyes. May I always treasure your Word in my heart. Keep my vision from getting clouded by deceit. Surround my family with your protection. Make us bold witnesses who speak your truth and make the darkness flee. Use our weaknesses to bring everlasting glory and honor to your name. Amen.
