“‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must
love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband” (Ephesians 5:31-33)
Speaking about marriage, Joni remarked that both “men and women reflect different features of God… even if ever so dimly.” We Christians should see relationships as fertile ground—for ourselves and for others—to grow into who we’re becoming.
Lord, may my husband and I draw closer to You and to each other as we grow to love and respect one another’s differences. Give us the grace to accept that neither of us are quite perfect yet. Amen!
