This One Thing (#277 of 365+)

“Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in
Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14)

“One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple” (Psalm 27:4)

Today Joni encouraged her readers to think seriously about their “one thing,” their reason for living. She offered that we will feel a real sense of purpose when we are intentionally “being near Jesus and seeking him no matter where we are or what we’re doing.”

Lord, I ask that you bear my burdens as we go through this day together. I know all I really need is to be near you. Thank you for your peace and for blessing me with a loving family. Amen.

An encouragement, a simple prayer, or a pithy observation... I would appreciate hearing from you. May God richly bless your day! ~Joanna
